After having chronically overspent in the years leading up to the current economic downturn, PM Gordon Brown has assured that the UK is as far from prepared for worse times as it could be. Without having any real clue as of what they are doing, the Labour government is proposing to increasing government spending, of course without having any money to spend, like any good Labour government, and increase the public net debt to 80% of GDP! From 70% you ask? No. From 60% you ask? NO! The government has given up on its rule to keep public net debt below 40% to allow it to DOUBLE! Over a period of ten years you say? No! Over a period of just 4 years! DOUBLE! FOUR YEARS!!

Luckily the PM will have to call a new election before June 2010, so at least we will get rid of him then. Unfortunately the mountains of debt that the PM and his government leave behind them will not disappear with the Labour government, and Britons will be paying for the mistakes of the current spendaholic Labour government for many, many years to come!

Warwickshire Police takes crime seriously!

I would like to extend my gratitude to the officers of the Warwickshire Police force, who showed yesterday that you can really trust them to take you seriously and will investigate almost anything. As I was walking home from the bus yesterday, completely exhausted after spinning (thank you Veronika) I saw someone smash the window of a Jag across the street from my flat in Clarence Mansions, grab something, and get on a bike and ride down Warwick Street towards Warwick. My first reaction was to try to follow him, but there was no way I could keep up with him on his bicycle, so instead I called the police. I honestly thought they would laugh at me! I mean, it was only someone breaking in to a car, how serious is that? When our country house was broken into the Swedish police did not even come out when we called! Fifteen seconds after I hung up the phone I see a patrol car coming down Warwick Street from the Parade going in the direction of the culprit, and seconds later a second patrol car comes up Dale Street and turns in to Warwick Street and follows the other patrol car.

Unfortunately they could not find anyone matching my description, so one of the patrol cars came back to Waterloo Place where the Jag was parked and asked me for a further description of the crook. They then asked me if I was willing to give a statement in a little while, which I of course said that I would do, and they said that they would come by my flat in a little bit which they also did. By the time we sat down for them to start taking my statement they were told over the radio that they had found a bicycle that matched my description by Warwick Place, and they asked me if I could come with them and see if I could identify the bicycle. So off we went! When we got there, there were three other patrol cars there! I am sorry to say that I could not positively identify the bicycle, but it did match my general description, and there were items in proximity to the bicycle that indicated that it belonged to the perpetrator. They then took me back to Clarence Mansions where they proceeded to take my statement. I was asked in detail to describe what had happen and once the very cute PC, referred to as Johnny by his colleague, and I were done my statement totalled three pages.

So, eight officers and a three-page statement for someone breaking in to a car! I am really glad that the Warwickshire Police takes crime seriously!

First of all I would like to apologise to those of you who have checked in regularly to see if I had made any new posts only to discover that I had not. Spending five amazing weeks in Sweden meant that I did not find the time to make any new posts. I would also like to thank those of you who e-mailed and Facebooked me encouraging me to make new posts, I’m really glad all of you appreciate what I write!

So five great weeks in Stockholm, with a long weekend in Berlin which was truly amazing, no studying, a cute boy, bad news in the family and a beautiful new Louis Vuitton bag later I’m now back at university and back to blogging!

The idealised Olof Palme

Claes Arvidsson's view is that with a murdered PM, it is quite understandable that he became idealised. "It wasn't really a good time to critisise Palme when he had just been shot and his blood was still on that street-corner in Stockholm". But he did deserve to be critisised, in Palme's vision of Sweden there was no limit to what the, albeit democratic, state could do and now where it couldn't go! And Claes Arvidsson is defintely doing a better job at talking about Palme than he did talking about defence policy!

Smoke-screens from Wanja Lundby-Wedin

Wanja Lundby-Wedin, President of the Swedish Trade Union Confederation (LO) is trying to use smoke-screens (among other things) to divert from the fact that she has taken part in paying a massive pension to the former MD of AMF while at the same time attacking others who have done that same thing. I can't really say that I have ever thought very highly of her or her views, but this is certainly a new low!

She claims that she has been "tricked" into making these massive payments, quite possibly the worst attempt at a defense that I have ever heard! YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE BOARD, HOW THE F*CK WOULD YOU HAVE BEEN TRICKED?! I understand that during the 1h long press conference yesterday WL-W could not once explain how she had been "tricked"!

Conscription to be abolished!

The Swedish government is taking a giant leap forward for freedom with their decision to abolish conscription in Sweden. I think that it is a decision long overdue, which will finally lead to the state no longer being able to force our young men to dedicate a year to services for the state.

How the recruitment of our future soldiers will look is of course going to be a difficult issue for the Armed Forces to work out, but that does not take away from the fact that the state has relinquished its slave like control of young men in Sweden!

No Gordon Brown, the financial markets do not need "morality" as you said in your address to the Scottish Labour conference in Dundee! The PM went on to say that only the government can make the market work in the public interest, where his logic is fatally flawed, as the government does not make markets work, the government's interference is what keeps markets from working properly!

Furthermore, "(the) banks must always serve the public, not just serve themselves." Well, that is easy for you to say, you've nationalised (almost) every bloody bank in the UK! So in that sense, I'm sure your "Government Banking Group" will "serve the public", just as well as any government ran "company" serves the public, completely rubbish that is!

"Election" in North Korea

Ok, you guys get one more post, as I'm still on the train!

On the 8th of March, those North Koreans who haven't starved to dead during the last term of "the Great General" Kim Jong-il will get a chance to have their say in the election of the National Defence Committee Chairman. Last time around 99.9 percent of the people voted, and the regime secured 100 percent of the vote. Not very surprising, as there was only one candidate.

One might think that Kim Jong-il is the president of North Korea, but that position is held in perpetuity by his father Kim Il-Sung, who died in 1994. Commies really are crazy. One can only hope that the people will rise and free themselves of the yoke of opression soon. It is so sad that still in this day and age such opressive regimes thrive.

Anti-Semitism on the rise in Malmö

SvD today has a heart-wrenching interview with Barbro Posner, resident of Malmö, about the rising anti-Semitism in Malmö. It is so embarrassing that 70 years after the Kristallnacht, anti-Semitism is yet again showing its ugly face, and we all have a responsibility to fight it! Mrs. Posner says in the interview that she has even considered leaving Malmö and moving to Israel to get away from the threatening situation that faces the Jewish community in Malmö.

Mrs. Posner also criticises Illmar Reepalu, the Labour chairman of Malmö's city council, who has attempted to dictate Swedish foreign policy through his resistance to the Davis Cup match this weekend, asking how she could possibly feel safe in a city ran by him.

The attacks on the Jewish community says something about the intelligence level of those criticising Israel, in that they fail to see that there is not necessarily a connection between a Jew and the state of Israel. Mrs. Posner was badgered in the street by a Swedish woman, who started off by saying: "You are murdering children" and ended up saying: "You are so stingy". She obviously went from criticising Israel, for which in her mind Mrs. Posner had to answer, to pure anti-Semitism. Embarrassing.

I'm not proud I'm Swedish today.

Chaves eats another private company

The "president" of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, has nationalised yet another company, this time in the food sector. Chavez has been gained some momentum after his narrow win in the recent vote on allowing him the run for "president" as many times as he wishes, which is a part of his plan to remain in office until 2030. He is apparently using that momentum to destroy some more successful businesses, something that will only hurt the people of Venezuela.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Chavez is destroying Venezuela, the only thing that has helped him to keep up the appearance that what he is doing is good has been the astronomical oil price. Since that has now crashed, one can only hope that the crash of Chavez's regime will soon follow.

Ridiculous protest in Malmö

Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet is reporting that up to 10,000 people will take part in a demonstration against the Davis Cup match Sweden will be playing against Israel this weekend. I support them thoroughly in their right to protest, provided that they have applied for and received permission from the authorities, even though I personally think that the whole thing is rather ridiculous.

Having said that though, I would not be very surprised if this demonstration gets out of hand and leftist thugs and hooligans decide that throwing things at the police and smashing windows is appropriate. That does seem to be what these hoodlums do best.

Israel is not a state that deserves to have sanctions imposed on it, it is a beacon of light, freedom and democracy in one of the darkest corners of the world. It think it is an embarrassment to Sweden and a disgrace that the match will be played without an audience, and that the lefties have kicked up such a fuss about the match. None of it very surprising of course, as lefties have a knee-jerk reaction to attack Israel whenever possible, and have no problem in supporting the dark forces of Hamas and Hizb'allah in their crusade to destroy the state of Israel.

Outrageous award to Naomi Klein

The University of Warwick has created a 'Prize for Writing' and the first prize has been awarded to Canadian fraudster Naomi Klein! Chair judge China Miéville, who writes books in the same genre as Klein, namely fantasy fiction (or rather figments of her own imagination, but whatever) said the following about Klein: "Naomi Klein's The Shock Doctrine is a brilliant, provocative, outstandingly written investigation into some of the great outrages of our time." Which planet do you live on lady? Klein's book is not facts of "our time" it is pure fiction!

The post on the University's website goes on to say: "The Shock Doctrine is based on breakthrough historical research and four years of on-the-ground reporting. Using detailed case studies from around the world, Klein charts the rise of disaster capitalism where moments of collective crisis - 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina for example - are exploited by global corporations to usher in radical social and economic change".

This is an embarrassment to the University, and I have never been so ashamed to be a Warwick student as I am today. Naomi Klein is a fiction writer who is passing off the stories that she has made up as facts. What Klein is trying to lure people to believe is that economical liberalisation is something that has to be forced upon the people through deception on behalf of a country's leaders, and that the rise of capitalism has made the world less democratic and more violent, when it fact it is clear that the opposite is what has happened!

What is worse is that she is trying to destroy the reputation of the great Milton Friedman, through confusing libertarianism with (neo)conservatism (knowingly or not, I don't know what is worse), and throughout the book is filled with inconsistent and contradicting argumentation. If you want to read more about Naomi Klein's work of fiction, the talented Johan Norberg, has written the following briefing paper! I only wish that the judges had read it before they made their decision on who to give the first ever Warwick 'Prize for Writing'.

Labour MP lacks solidarity

The Labour MP, Jan Emanuel Johansson, has tried to sub-let his two bedroom apartment for 40,000 SEK a month (about £3,500) which is probably about twice as much as rent he is allowed to charge under the rules that govern sub-letting in Sweden.

I think this is another prime example of how Labour politicians lack all sense of consistency vis-à-vis their own party policy, in the way they behave in private! I cannot get my head around how he thinks, as a public figure and representative for the Labour party in Parliament, that he could get away with something like this!

All the Labour rhetoric about how "the Rich", i.e. anyone with a job, is trying to profit from "the Poor", i.e. anyone who can't be bother to work, falls flat to the ground with the way the Labour pack behaves, in this case clearly exploiting the over-regulated house-marketing in Stockholm! Where is your sense of solidarity Jan Emanuel?!

The Labour bunch is nothing more than a do-no-good, self-profiting pack that remains wildly hypocritical in their claims to support the outdated notion of solidarity.

Interesting management style of Café Library manager

I'm sitting next to some employees of Café Library having a meeting with their manager. Another employee comes over to ask a question, which remains unanswered. As soon as he has left the group the manager goes: "Smart-arse" in front on the remaining group, the poor guys colleagues!

What a great way of undermining his authority among his colleagues, and what an extremly inappropraite remarke for a manager to make about one of her employees! I know that the Business School is teaching me how to become a good manager, but I did not know that Warwick Hospitality's staff was working so hard to provide examples of how not to behave as managers, but I guess that it does not matter how you learn, only what you learn. Thank you for the lesson Jan!

Spring has sprung

Lovely London - Food & Art

I've spent a great weekend in London, courtesy of the lovely Uggla family! They were kind enough to open the door to their beautiful Kensington home for me, and I throughly enjoyed being invited into the everyday life of a London family!

I would like to recommend everyone who pops to London sometime soon to head over to UrbanTurban on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill, if you are interested in the best Indian fayre this side of Mumbai that is!

Caroline and I also visited the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea, where we saw a very interesting exhibition of contemporary art from the Middle East. Again, if you are heading to London before May 9th I would really recommend a visit! I've got two pictures and the end of this post, hollow tin-foil praying Moslem women, and veiled women with their domestic paraphernalia. Both of these were very strong pieces of art, both of which raises the question of women's position in the Middle East yet again. I cannot help but feel the burden of oppression weighting down on their shoulders. It cannot be right.

The Coffeehouse blog at the Spectator published this interesting table from the FT yesterday, in which you can see that attitudes towards unemployed and government benefits for those unemployed are hardening. It is interesting that after 10 years of Labour government these attitudes have changed in this way, contrary to what the "rob ordinary people so those who can't be bothered to work don't have too"-Labour politicians would want. Apparently ten years of supporting those who "just can't be bothered" is enough for most Britons, which is also very clear in the polls!

Surely the Labour government will rush to the defence of those who can't be bothered, much as I feel that Labour in Sweden does. The Labour movement is no longer about the right to work, as it was some 100 years ago, but today it is all about the right not to work! My question then is, if no one has to work, and everyone is to be supported by the government, who will pick up the check? Illogical? Quite! Am I surprised? No, not really! This is Labour logic at its best!

No President has ever before

Freakonomics at the New York Times has this amusing entry provided by speechwars.com , where you can see that President Obama was the first president to mention the words laundry and pandemic in his State of the Union address and also that he mentioned the word crisis 11 times. I can't help but wonder if this means that the Obama administration considers the current situation three times as bad as it was in 1932 during the Great Depression, as President Hoover only mentioned the word crisis four times in 1932?

Sppechwars is quite amusing in itself, it is worth checking out! The word "gay" has only been mentioned once in the State of the Union addresses, but "Sweden" has surprisingly enough been mentioned 47 times, mainly in the period of 1880-1900!

No more compulsory Student's Unions in Sweden

The Swedish Government has decided to abolish the rule that forces Swedish students to join the Student's Union as of the 1/7/2010, and not a day to soon! The National Union of Students is if of course outraged, understandable as they will probably loose a lot of members when people are no longer forced to join! With the abolishment of conscription and now this, the government is taking steps towards a more free Sweden, but with 90 years of socialism there is still a long way to go!

"Just a massive thanks for your endorsement on your blog Erik - it really means a lot!! It's nice to know that as well as being a right wing extremist you chose to specifically single out the three gay candidates running in the SU elections! ... I'm sure you'll be happy to hear I didn't win - although having ran a positive (but highly disorganised) campaign I'm very happy with second place. I'll be finalist next year so still around at Warwick anyway! :) What will you be doing next year?"

So there we have it friends, I'm a right-wing extremist (oh no wait, that right, I'm not, I'm liberal - maybe he'll get his next point right!) and I apparently have something against gay candidates running in the SU elections (ah well, at least I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking he would get the next point right, too bad he didn't! Of course James, not being straight myself I am homophobe, and I mentioned those three candidates because they are gay, it had nothing to do the fact that I actually had an opinion on their and your suitability for the positions - oh wait, it did, THAT was why I mentioned them).

Yes James, I'm please that a crazy socialist/communist/marxist/leninist/maoist/whatever it is you call your mass-murdering, dictatorial ideology didn't win Governance and Finance, not that I have any doubt that MY Student's Union will be littered with socialist propaganda in the year to come anyway, but hey, unfortunately that's the way we do it here at Warwick.

On another note, who is ever happy about being "Second place - First loser" in an election? Who ever remembers a first loser?

Flip-flops in February

I am going to take a minute to talk about the British, and their misconceptions about the sun and summer. The picture above is my own, I took it YESTERDAY on campus where this guy was walking around in flip-flops, IN FEBRUARY, when it was about 10°C outside!! That's just wrong man! Not cool (but probably quite cold)!

But I would be lying if I said that I was surprised. The British seem to believe that just because the sun is out it is summer, and you should wear a t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops! I would agree that such an attire is appropriate for summer, but people, come on, a little sunshine does not make it summer!

If I would venture a guess I would say that since we don't often get a lot of sun over here the poor saps feel that they must treasure every ray of sunlight and treat it as if there was a whole summer in the ray on sunlight. I do agree that we should treasure the sun we get, but treating it as summer is just wrong! I am sorry to shatter anyone's illusions, but just because the sun is out does not mean that it is summer!

Ivan Cameron dies

The BBC is reporting that Ivan Cameron, the 6 year old son of David Cameron, leader of the Conservative party and PM if there would be elections today, has died during the night. Ivan Cameron was suffering from cerebral palsy and severe epilepsy. David Cameron said in an interview with the Sunday Times in 2005 that the news of his son's disability "hit him like a freight-train" but that he got over it, because Ivan was "wonderful". I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the Cameron family.

The Princess and the stableboy

The Swedish Court today announced that Crown Princess Victoria, the Duchess of Västergötland, has become engaged to the commoner Daniel Westling. None of this is of course surprising as the couple has been going out for some seven years, but naturally all the Swedish newspapers are filled with coverage of the engagement.

Being liberal the logical stance would be to oppose the monarchy, but those cheering me on to become even more liberal will be disappointed to know that I don't. What I will say though is that this whole "Princess and stableboy" saga, and its possible effect on the monarchy as an institution is quite interesting.

The Royal Family holds the most privileged position in society, and with that comes a lot of respect from (most of) the people, which should not be squandered. If the Royals go around marrying just anybody there is a significant risk that the fortitude of the monarchy will be hollowed-out, the Royal Family won't be seen as all that different, and worse, not as something unattainable.

Seriously, if Daniel can be made Prince, why should not any old Carl, Oscar or Erik be allowed to become a Prince? This, right there, is what I believe will harm the monarchy, and ultimately weaken its position in society. Your RH Crown Princess Victoria, please make sure your heir marries someone other than a commoner!

The Un"fair" Trade

Today marks the start of "Fairtrade Fortnight" and I can't help but to share some of my thought on so called "Fair trade".

In Britain the plague of "Fair trade" is wide-spread, much more so than in Sweden, from what I can tell. It is unfortunate that the use of the word "fair" fools droves of people into believing that there is something good about "Fair trade". The Adam Smith Institute’s Blog has a very enlightening entry today about the evils of “Fair trade”, namely that it raises costs for consumers, and enslaves the people it claims to help.

However, the sly marketers of “Fair trade” have left us, who are trying to expose it as the hoax it is, in a difficult position, since it is tricky to take the opposite position in an argument against someone who is promoting “Fair trade”. If I say that I am against “Fair trade” does that mean that I want “Unfair trade”? That would of course be the logical counter-stance to “Fair trade”, but is that really what I believe in? No, of course not, I want what has helped build prosperity in the West for hundreds of years, I want specialisation and free trade.

Israel+Sweden=Audience?

The Swedish Tennis Association and the Stockholm City Council are examing whether or not it is possible to move the Davis Cup match between Israel and Sweden to Stockholm, after it was decided that it would be played without any audience in Malmö due to "security concerns".

In Malmö the Labour politicians claimed that it was "security concerns" that forced them to decide that the match would be played without any audience. Apparently the Centre-right politicians in Stockholm have more faith in the police's ability to do their job, if anyone would be stupid enough to try to do something which could endanger the security of the audience.

Madeleine Sjöstedt, member of the Stockholm City Council for the Liberal Party, says they have been working all weekend trying to find a solution, something that the Secretary General of the Swedish Tennis Association says he is grateful for.

Hopefully Stockholm will be able to restore some faith in Sweden, now that Malmö has attempted to embarrass the nation through playing foreign policy, which understandably has not been very well received in Israel.

After an ab f*cking fabulous day in London I just thought I would share some impressions with you. Firstly Uniqlo is awesome!! You all need to go to your nearest store asap and get hooked up by the helpful and friendly staff! The store is filled with vibrant colours, cool designs and all at very affordable prices!

On another note, bot CC and I were quite looking forward to checking out H&M's posher version, COS, but let me tell you, what a disappointment! Don't waste any of your time there, it was all extremely bland and, quite frankly, boring.

No, instead, hope down along Regent Street, and make your way to Abercrombie & Fitch's store! It is a temple where worship is made to the man, the male, and the male body (as can be seen on the picture below). The whole store is bustling with sexy, it is dark, loud music, and an intoxicating fragrance that, when CC and I tried to describe it, smelt like man (in the very best of ways). The clothes were nice as well. No seriously, they have some nice stuff, quite preppy, tons of different makes and models!

The overall impressions is that this spring is hit by the recession, and colours such as black, white, grey and blue will be dominating! Preppy is big, and it is through that we can all get away with the more vibrant colours every spring needs, like strong greens, oranges, blues and purples!

Foreign policy dictated by Malmö

Yesterday the ‘Leisure Committee’ of Malmö’s City Council decided that the Davis Cup match between Sweden and Israel, which is scheduled to take place in Malmö on the 6-8 March, will be played without an audience. The Labour chairman of the committee, Bengt Forsberg, claimed that it was because of “security concerns” that they had made the decision, which will lead to the city council losing 2 MSEK (approx. £160,000) instead of making a profit of 1,2 MSEK (approx. £95,000), another brilliant example of Labour’s attitude to tax-payers money. His coalition partner from the former communist party, Carlos Gonzáles Ramos, made no attempt to hide his sentiments:, saying that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, and therefore should be banned from playing in Sweden, but since that is not possible, this is the second best thing.

The chairman of Malmö’s City Council, Ilmar Reepalu (Labour) does not agree with his (former) communist colleague that banning would be impossible, and has today made a statement in which he says that the match should not go ahead , and that it is right to boycott Israel. I find it remarkable that the chairman of a city council thinks it is his thing to form Swedish foreign policy, but hubris is something that seems to come natural to socialists and communists (just look at Chavez!).

None is this is however surprising, but rather something symptomatic for the left. I find it absurd that boycott demands are always brought forward by the left towards the democratic state of Israel, a beacon of light and freedom in the Middle East, whereas Palestinian terrorists are cuddled with. This is a very poignant example that the left is not unused to using violence, cold-blooded murder and terrorism to reach their political aims, and that democracy isn’t all that important to them.

My dear friend Karl Malmqvist has made a great post on the topic here (in Swedish), where he among other things expresses his surprise that Ilmar Reepalu had no problem with Sweden competing in the Olympic Games in the dictatorship and human-rights violator communist China. Really Karl, were you expecting a Labour politician to be logical and consistent?

I've paid a couple thousand pounds in tuition fees to go to Warwick, and I do NOT appreciate people trepassing during lectures, taking away from the lecture time which I've paid dearly for, in order for you to use it as an electoral platform. Don't. Just don't. It's no way to win elections.

Student's Union elections

The University of Warwick's Student's Union is currently conducting its elections for sabbatical officers for the next academic year. Most candidates seem to be under the impression that the more you litter campus with posters, the more likely you will have electoral success. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm personally not very impressed by handpainted cardboard signs in an election where the candidates seem to compete with each other in serving up the same platitudes and populist drivel! How about some innovation and new ideas people? I guess that is to much to hope for at a second-tier university.

Who will I vote for? Other than the no-brainer of NOT voting for James Hilsdon, Tommy Precious or Lev Taylor, I would say that I would vote for the candidates that have not puked posters on the library, but I fear that would leave me with no other option than R.O.N. Happy Elections everyone!

To force or not to force

Svenska Dagbladet today has an article on the abolishment of Swedish conscription. The Armed Forces are of course concerned that they will not be able to attract enough men and women to join the Armed Forces and that it will cost more that today. They are right to be worried, as the Armed Forces of today, with conscription, is a throughly unattractive employer, and yes, it is going to cost more to get people to WANT to join the Armed Forces as opposed to just being able to pick and choose, and then FORCE people!

To quote the forever inspirational philosopher Ayn Rand in her Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal:

"Of all the statist violations of individual rights in a mixed economy, the military draft is the worst. It is an abrogation of rights. It negates man's fundamental right--the right to life--and establishes the fundamental principle of statism: that a man's life belongs to the state, and the state may claim it by compelling him to sacrifice it in battle. If the state may force a man to risk death or hideous maiming and crippling, in a war declared at the state's discretion, for a cause he may neither approve of nor even understand, if his consent is not required to send him into unspeakable martyrdom--then, in principle, all rights are negated in that state, and its government is not man's protector any longer. What is there left to protect?"

What gives a democratic government the right to take command over their young, stripping them of their most basic right, their right to free will? And for those of you out there who think that people's life belong to the state, I would like to ask you this: "If conscription is such a good idea, then why stop at just conscripting people for the Armed Forces? Why not establish some sort of "Council of Elders" who will conduct tests on the entire people, say when they turn 18, and then tell them what they are to do with the rest of their lives! You are to become a doctor, you are to become a street sweeper, and you are to become a soldier."

For any freedom-loving individual it is obvious that the state does not have the right to commandeer the lives of young people for military service, any more than it has the right to decide which profession people should pursue! Luckily for Sweden, the state won't be able to force young people into the Armed Forces much longer. We will finally be able to say: "Good riddance!"

EU East

The Swedish Foreign Secretary, Carl Bildt, has published a commentary in a leading Swedish newspaper, Svenska Dagbladet, about the importance of good relations between the EU and its neighbours in the east.

The Foreign Secretary has commented on some very important issues. Following the Russian assault on Georgia it has become clear that the stability we thought existed in the east might not be there anymore. The economic downturn has already affected the region adversely, and this will probably lead to further destabilisation of the region. Therefore it is more important than ever that the EU shows these countries that the way forward is through closer ties to the west and the EU. I hope that the Foreign Secretary will get a chance to do something about that when Sweden takes over the presidency of the EU for the second half of 2009.

This is Britain?

Leading Swedish daily newspaper, Dagen Nyheter, provides this glorious insight to Britain. Their view is that youth stabbings, £1 pints and steak and Yorkshire pudding sums up Britain of today. Fair enough. A more interesting observation relating to the current economic climate is the statement that 50 pubs in Britain will go bust every month. To be fair, that might not be as surprising as it might sound, given how many absolutely worthless pubs there are. That is one of the advantages of a tougher economic climate, survival of the fittest, and I look forward to a lot of poorly run businesses going out of business!

Having said that, there are a lot of beautiful British pubs around the country, which I sincerely hope will survive, without being consumed by the hell fire of the recession

Palestinian children taught to hate

Another appalling example (previously examples include the martyrdom of Farfour the mouse) of how Hamas is grooming children to become terrorists can be seen here, where Nassur the bear declares war on the Zionists and asks Saraa, the 11 year old host of the show, if she isn't also ready to sacrifice herself for the homeland.

Palestinian children deserve better than to be encouraged to martyrdom at age 11. Hamas feeds of fear, bloodshed, violence and hatred, and it becomes painfully clear that Hamas is ensuring that hatred of Israelis remains a part of the national identity for Palestinians, making peace impossible.

Spring has sprung?

After a wintery spell it is distinctly milder today in Leamington! Dare I say it? Does this mean that Spring is on its way? It would certainly be a very nice change!

The milder weather is also allowing the Brits back into their comfort zone, after having been quite out of their depth over the past couple of weeks. It has also made it painfully clear to me that you need contingency plans for all kinds of events. I'm not saying that more of the tax-payers' money should be spent on snow-plows, but rather that society and especially businesses need to have some idea of how they are to handle difficult situations, like a bit of snow. To do as Stagecoach Warks did, and suspend their service without any means of communicating that to their customers, who were relying on them to get them to work, university or home, is not an example of good customer care!

Galenskaper i Venzuela

Venezuela diktator Hugo Chavez har kommit ett steg närmare sitt mål att fortsätta förstora sitt land till 2030, genom valsegern igår. Jag beklagar, Venezuela. Den enda trösten som står att finna är det faktum att över 45% av de som röstade var motståndare till förslaget.

Chavez har genom en destruktiv politik de senaste åren mutat sin befolkning till att tro att det han gör är bra för Venezuela. När nu oljepriserna har rasat kommer han få det svårare och svårare att hålla illusionen uppe och på senaste tiden har han tvingats använda sig av centralbankens reserver.

Det statliga oljebolaget är ett lysande exempel på hur Chavez är på väg att köra Venezuela i diket. Bolaget drivs som ett politiskt projekt och producerar 25% mindre än vad det gjorde för 10 år sedan samtidigt som dess utstående skulder har dubblerats.

Bara det faktum att ett lands ledare har som mål att förbli ledare i flera decennier borde räcka för att få larmklockorna att ringa! Det är verkligen intressant hur demokratiska principer pötsligt inte är så viktiga i världens socialistiskt influerade länder!

På Nationaldagen 6/6 arranger CUF och LUF i Stockholm en demonstration under parolen "Bevara Sverige Blandat"! Imorgon samlas alla vi som vill ta ställning mot rasism på Sergelstorg klockan 12! Under eftermiddag kommer bland annat Magnus Andersson, förbundsordförande för CUF, och Birgitta Ohlsson, riksdagsledamot för Folkpartiet att tala!

Kom du också, hjälp oss att visa att vi är många som tar ställning mot rasism och främlingsfientlighet, och att vi är många som tar ställning för ett blandat Sverige!

Hur botar man en rasist?

Jag tror att jag förlorade en vän idag.

Jag och Z. har varit vänner i över fem år. Även om vi inte alltid har träffats så ofta, så har vi alltid funnits där för varandra, och när vi har träffats så har vår vänskap känts väldigt stark.

Jag och Z. pratade i telefon idag, och jag nämnde att jag var CUF:are. Z. blev förvånad och trodde att skulle vara ”mer höger”. På något sätt gled vi in på frågan om integration och immigration. Helt plötsligt känner jag inte längre igen Z. Z. talar som om Z. vore Jimmie Åkesson själv. ”Invandrarna håller på att ta över Sverige. Varför lär de sig inte svenska? Varför ska de bo här och dra med sig all skit därifrån de kommer? Varför kan de inte bara åka hem igen? Det var bättre förr.”

Jag frågade: ”Vilka är svenskar då?” Z. svarar: ”Jamen du och jag, eller vänta inte du, men jag.” Z. syftar på att min farfars far var från Tyskland. Jag blev helt stum, och visste inte vad jag skulle säga. Hur kan du tycka så här Z.? Hade du varit övertygad ideologisk kommunist hade jag blivit sporrad till debatt. Nu blev jag istället bara helt matt.

Z. har gått på Sverigedemokraternas skitsnack om att invandrarna gjort något fel, och att ansvaret för den misslyckade integrationen ligger hos ”dem” inte hos ”oss”. Z. tror på indoktrineringen att det finns en tydlig uppdelning mellan ”vi” och ”dem”, och att om ”vi” blir av med ”dem” så kommer ”vi” att få det bättre.

Var har det gått fel för Z.? Det här är verkligen en tankeställare. Det är alltså inte bara en gäng rakade nassar i Skåne och Karlskrona som tycker så här?! Även folk i min bekantskapskrets har gått på de här lögnarna. Jag har alltid uppfattat Z. som en god vän, och en god med människa. Kan någon därute hjälpa mig? Hur botar man en rasist?

Vad lär SVT våra barn?!

Slog på TV:n en morgon i slutet på förra veckan. På SVT1 sändes då barnprogrammet Sagoträdet, och just det här avsnittet handlade om frukt och grönsaker. Inslaget håller sig på en neutral nivå, och handlar om vilka frukter som några intervjuade barn tycker är godast. Precis innan det är slut kommer dock följande replikskifte mellan barnen som är programledare:
-"På vinter måste vi importera frukt."
-"Det skulle vara bättre för Sverige om vi odlade frukten själv i växthus."

WTF?! Vad är det för propaganda som SVT ger utryck för. Andemeningen är alltså att det skulle vara bättre för Sverige ekonomiskt och ur ett miljömässigt perspektiv om vi odlade frukt och grönsaker själva i växthus under vinterhalvåret.

För det första, protektionism? Har SVT inte följt med utvecklingen de senaste åren?! Länder som bedriver frihandel är idag mycket mer utvecklade och rikare än de länder som försökt sig på protektionistiska projekt! Hur understår sig SVT att försöka lura på våra barn att "det vore bättre om Sverige själv odlade/tillverkade det som Sverige behöver"?!

För det andra, miljöperspektivet. SvD skrev för några veckor sedan om hur det är bättre att köpa friodlade grönsaker från t.ex. Spanien under vinterhalvåret än grönsaker odlade i växthus, eftersom miljöpåverkan var mindre, trots transporten! Återigen indoktrineras barnen till ett tankemönster som helt och hållet felaktigt!

Jag har idag mailat programansvarig för Sagoträdet på SVT, med en fråga om varför SVT försöka lära våra barn att protektionism och ett miljöfientligt tänkande är bra. Det ska bli mycket intressant att se vad jag får för något svar.

Det är inte bättre för Sverige om vi odlar frukten själv i växthus, varken ur ett ekonomiskt perspektiv eller ur ett miljöperspektiv!

LKAB:s stackars små arbetare

Vild strejk? Om du nu är så synd om de stackars små arbetarna, varför arbetar de på LKAB överhuvudtaget? Jag förstår inte hur man kan se arbetarna som fastkedjade vid sitt arbete, och att det därmed har rätt att kräva vissa saker av sina arbetsgivare! Fast där är väl skillnaden mellan vänsterns systemkramare och vi i den liberala människorälskande gruppen! I deras utopi är människor som spelbrickor som staten kan flytta runt hur som helst för att bäst tjäna staten. I min utopi har människor ett riktigt egenvärde, och får bestämma över sina liv själva!

Det är hög tid att införa plattskatt även i Sverige! Estland är ett exempel på hur bra det systemet har fungerat!

Debattören Filautos beskriver på ett lysande sätt den progressiva skatten:

"Tio vänner gick ut varje dag för att äta middag. Notan för de tio tillsammans hamnar på 1000 kr.

Om de delade upp notan på samma sätt som vi betalar skatter, skulle det bli ungefär såhär: De första fyra - de fattigaste - skulle inte betala någonting; den femte skulle betala 10 kr; den sjätte skulle betala 30 kr; den sjunde 70 kr; den åttonde 120 kr; den nionde 180 kr. Den tionde personen - den rikaste - skulle betala 590 kr.

De bestämde sig för att betala notan på det viset.

De tio åt middag på restaurangen varje dag och kände sig nöjda med uppgörelsen - tills en dag, ägaren till restaurangen gav dem rabatt. “Eftersom ni är så bra kunder,” sa han, “ger jag er 200 kr rabatt på era middagar.” Middag för tio skulle då bara kosta 800 kr.

Gruppen ville fortfarande betala middagen på det sätt vi betalar skatter.
Så de första fyra påverkades inte, de fick fortsätta äta gratis. Men hur skulle de andra sex göra - de som betalade? Hur skulle de dela upp rabatten på 200 kr så att alla skulle få sin “beskärda del”?” De sex personerna insåg att 200 kr delat med sex blir 33,33 kr. Men om de drog bort det från varje persons andel skulle den femte och sjätte personen få betalt för att äta.

Restaurangägaren föreslog då att det vore rättvist att reducera varje persons nota med ungefär jämt och han satte igång att räkna på de belopp varje person skulle betala. Resultatet blev att även den femte personen fick äta gratis, den sjätte fick betala 20 kr, den sjunde betalade 50
kr, den åttonde 90 kr, den nionde 120 kr, vilket lämnade den tionde personen med 520 kr istället för tidigare 590.

Alla sex personerna fick lägre pris än tidigare och de fyra första fick fortsätta äta gratis. Men plötsligt utanför restaurangen började personerna jämföra vad de sparat. “Jag tjänade bara en tia av 200 kr, “började den sjätte personen. Han pekade på den tionde: “men han tjänade 70!” “Precis,” sa den femte personen. “jag sparade också bara en tia. Det är orättvist att han fick sju gånger så mycket som jag!” “Det är sant!” skrek den sjunde personen. “varför ska han få 70 kr tillbaka När jag bara fick 20? De rika ska alltid få det bättre!” “Vänta ett tag,” skrek de fyra första unisont, “Vi fick ju ingenting alls! Det här systemet utnyttjar de fattiga!” De nio personerna omringade den tionde och gav honom stryk. Nästa kväll kom inte han till middagen, så de nio andra satte sig ner och åt utan honom.

När så notan kom in upptäckte de något viktigt. Det fattades 520 kr."

Jag undrar dock vad magnus andersson vill ha sagt med sin kommentar...? Detta med tanke på att han bara citerar mitt inlägg och sedan inte skriver något mer. Magnus, om de som läser min blogg ville läsa det som du citerat, så kan de scrolla ner lite, du behöver inte hjälpa dem genom att lägga in mitt inlägg som en kommentar till ett av mina andra inlägg!

Jag vidhåller att Sverigedemokraterna är ett uttryck för en ondska som måste exponeras. Jag vidhåller även att hatet inte kommer att avstanna om SD får igenom sina krav om utom-europeiska invandrare, utan då kommer hotet att riktas mot någon annan grupp.

Gör DIN röst hörd mot nationalisterna! Annars finns det kanske ingen kvar som kan protestera när de kommer för att ta dig.

Vad har Sverigedemokraterna i garderoben?

Det främlingsfientliga, populistiska Sverigedemokraterna fortsätter att nå mediala framsteg, och det finns stor risk att de kommer att komma in i Riksdagen 2010 om inte fler arbetar för att exponera dem för vad de verkligen är.

Sverigedemokraterna står för en politik som är destruktiv för Sverige. Vi måste som samhälle påminna om hur det gick i Tyskland när NSDAP valde ut en grupp, och lade all skuld för nationens problem på dem. Då var de judarna, idag är det de utom-europeiska invandrarna.

Alla ni som finner Sverigedemokraterna på något sätt sympatiska vill jag göra uppmärksamma på en sak, en viktigt fråga. Vilka blir det sen? När Sverigedemokraterna har utrotat eller kastat ut alla som de anser inte vara tillräckligt svenska, vilka ger de sig på då? De som inte röstar på Sveriges Nationalistiska parti (Svenska Nazi-partiet Sverigedemokraterna)? Protestanterna? Katolikerna? De icke-troende? Judarna? De med rött hår? De med brunt hår? De med svart hår? De med blont hår? De med gröna ögon? De med blåa ögon? De med bruna ögon? De med skägg? De utan skägg? De med kort hår? De med långt hår?

Precis som med nazismen så kommer det att börja med en grupp, men när man är "klar" med den, när den är demoniserad, och man fortfarande inte har löst problemen (eftersom den demoniserade gruppen inte har något med problemen att göra alls egentligen), så kommer man att ge sig på någon annan grupp, precis som nazisterna gjorda.

Vi måste tillsammans bekämpa ondskan ibland oss, trångsyntheten får aldrig segra! Om den gör det, kommer vi alla få lida!

Läste i tidningen idag att FN:s generalsekreterare Ban Ki-Moon ska göra ett nytt försök att förmå den sudanesiska regimen att släppa in en fredsbevarande styrka.

Det har gått flera år sedan de första rapporten om övergrepp i Darfur kom. Hundratusentals människor har mördats och flera miljoner har drivits på flykt. Vad har omvärlden lyckats uppnå? INGET! Det är helt horribelt!

Det kan inte vara så svårt! Befolkninigen behöver skydd från regimens trupper och milisen. Se till att de får det! NU!

Mänsklig rättighet att slippa arbeta?

DN har idag skrivit en lysande ledare om "Världen enligt LO" där LO argumenterar för arbetslösas rätt att slippa jobba!

Det är något som är riktigt sjukt med vårt land om folk anser sig att ha rätt att slippa arbeta, och att det är "någon annan" som ska arbeta för att försörja mig. Den lysande riksdagsledamoten för Centerpartiet, Annie Johansson, talar ofta om "nån-annan-ismen", att det är någon annan som ska se till att saker och ting blir gjorda. Exempelvis verkar ju LO anse att det är "nån-annan" som är ansvarig för att försörja mig om jag inte vill jobba. Hur har vi hamnat så snett? Vad har hänt med plikten att försörja sig själv?

Jag skulle vilja rikta en fråga till alla där ute som är ivriga påhejare av "nån-annan-ism" (ja, jag menar alla vänster om alliansen): "Vem är denna nån-annan som ska arbeta för att försörja alla andra invånare i Sverige? Vem eller vilka är det som ska arbeta för att andra ska slippa arbeta, och varför?"

Det som retar mig mest med "rättigheten" att slippa arbeta och försörja sig själv är att alla de som håller detta galna system om ryggen måste ju egentligen sträva efter en utopi där ingen arbetar, utan alla blir försörjda av någon annan! Om detta blir normen, att bli försörjd av någon annan, att någon annan ska arbeta för att försörja mig, så är vi snabbt på väg mot samhällets kollaps! Om staten uppmanar till pacificering och uppmanar befolkningen att de inte behöver arbeta för att försörja sig så kommer ju till slut ingen att arbeta!

Alla ska ha möjlighet att försörja sig själv, men INGEN har rätt att bli försörjd av någon annan. Fördelningspolitik är äckligt. Montera ner staten, NU!

Varför har vänstern tolkningsföreträde?

Så nu har äntligen vårpropositionen kommit! Avskaffade förmögenhetsskatt och fastighetsskatt! Äntligen! Men varför har borgerliga politiker tillåtit vänstern få tolkningsföreträde på varför men genomför dessa reformer? Den generella synen i samhället verkar vara att det endast är "de rika" som gynnas av skattesänkningarna? Varför får vi inte höra att reformerna till exempel innebär att det kommer att finnas mer riskkapital, vilket innebär att fler kommer att kunna starta företag, vilket kommer att minska arbetslösheten?

Nejnej, det är "ett orättvist förslag som bara gynnar de rika" enligt vänstern. Vilka nu "de rika" är enligt vänstern...? För inte är det miljardärerna, de har vänstern förstått att man inte kan ha som fiende, så de har man skickligt lierat sig med. Nej, "de rika", är t.ex. de helt vanliga familjer med två föräldrar som studerat på universitet, får en rimlig lön och som valt att satsa på sitt boende. Som sagt, en helt vanlig familj enligt mig. En utsugande kapitalist som äter arbetarbarn till middag enligt vänstern. Vänster is so last year!

Systemets Kina fortsätter köra över befolkningen

Idag rapporterar Svenska Dagbladet om att tusentals kineser kommer att tvångsförflyttas från de centrala delarna av Shanghai för att bereda plats för världutställningen 2010. I kinesiska tidningar rapporteras det: "Med expon ska Kina skänka världen en harmonisk melodi”. Harmonisk? Knappast, då man tvångförflyttar tusentals medborgare och expriorierar deras hem!!

Tidigare har jag skrivit om Wu Ping, som efter flera års kamp tvingades bort från sitt hus i Chongqing varpå det omedelbart revs. Exemplet från Shanghai är ytterligare ett exempel på hur den kommunitiska regimen i Kina kör över sin egen befolkning.

Jag har innerlig svårt att förstå hur någon kan förespråka kommunism och socialism med tanke på hur katastrofalt dessa ideologier interagerar med verkligheten. Kina, Sovjet, Kuba och Nordkorea för att nämna några.

Jag upprepar mantra: "Varje regering ska frukta sin befolkning, ingen befolkning ska frukta sin regering!"

Skönt att se att i alla fall Granskningsnämden gör sitt jobb, när SVT mer och mer liknar en socialistisk propagandamaskin.
Granskningsnämden skriver i sitt beslut: "Vissa kritiska synpunkter på Fidel Castro och hans regim kom i och för sig fram i temakvällens studiodel (10 minuter av 3 timmars sändning, min anm.), men frågan om exempelvis mänskliga rättigheter på Kuba berördes varken i denna del eller på något annat sätt under sändningen"

Det Nya Ryssland

Under helgen har hundratals oppositionella gripits i Ryssland under de demonstrationer som anordnats av paraplyorganisationen för oppositionen vid namn Det andra Ryssland.

Det blir tydligare och tydligare att Ryssland är på väg ifrån demokrati mot diktatur och en polisstat, en utveckling som minst sagt är skrämmande. Under flera år har mångfalden inom media minskat, så till den grad att nästan all media idag är statskontrollerad, och har blivit ett propagandaorgan för Putin. Flera ledande dissidenter har under senaste tiden mördats, som t.ex. Anna Politkovskaya och Alexander Litvinenko. Främlingsfientligheten är på stark frammarsch med både attacker med antisemitiska dragningar, och attacker mot t.ex. kaukasier. Inför presidentvalet har förändringar gjorts vad det gäller vilka partier som får ställa upp i valet (hur många medlemmar man måste ha för att få kalla sig ett parti, osv.), vilket skett i tydligt odemokratisk anda.

Ryssland har under de senaste året upplevt en kraftig ekonomisk återhämtning efter krisåren på 90-talet, mycket tack vare de skenande oljepriserna. Jag har självklart inget emot att Ryssland får mer pengar i statskassan, under förutsättning att folkets representanter i statsmakten använder dessa pengar till det som kommer folket till gagn.

Jag är mycket oroad av utvecklingen i Ryssland under den senaste tiden. Ett odemokratiskt, närmast fascistiskt Ryssland med obegränsade monetära tillgångar är onekligen oerhört skrämmande. Den senaste helgens handlingar från statsmaktens sida visar också att man inte lever efter axiomet: "Varje regering ska frukta sin befolkning, ingen befolkning ska frukta sin regering!"

Mellanösterns största hot

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad meddelar att Iran planerar att börja anrikning av uran på industriell skala, med hjälp av 3 000 centrifuger. Chefen för Irans "atomenergiorganisation" (läs kärnvapenprojekt) informerar vidare om att målet är att installera 50 000 centrifuger för urananrikning. Om man uppnår det kommer man att kunna producera 15-20 kärnvapenstridsspetsar per år.

Detta samtidigt som Ahmadinejad talar om att Israel ska utsättas för en andra Förintelse. Iran har robotar med räckvidd nog att nå Israel. Iran vill skaffa dig kapacitet att producera kärnvapen. Iran talar om en andra Förintelse. Enligt min mening är det solklart. Iran vill skaffa sig kärnvapenkapacitet för att lyckas utrota Israel och mörda miljontals israeler, något som arabstaterna har försökt göra i snart 60 år, men hittills inte lyckats med.

Iran ignorerar FN. Ett sådant land förtjänar sanktioner. Det är hög tid för det nu.

Äntligen trängselskatt!

Den 1 augusti i år kommer trängselskatten med all sannolikhet återinföras i Stockholm. Det är ett beslut som jag, som miljövän och liberal, välkomnar! Ur ett liberalt perspektiv tycker jag att det är en självklarhet med trängelskatt, eftersom det innebär att de som vill utnyttja vägarna får betala för det! Om det samtidigt innebär att färre kör bil är det självklart bra ur miljösynpunkt. Jag stödjer det även ur ett federalistiskt perspektiv, eftersom de som i huvudsak påverkas av förslaget är de som har fått besluta om det.

Jag ska inte sticka under stol med att jag var emot trängelskatten under prövoperioden, men det var av helt andra anledningar. Sossen Annika Billströms lögn rakt i ansiktet på stockholmarna, och en osäkerhet kring vad pengarna skulle gå till.

En förutsättning för ett liberalt stöd till trängselskatten är självklart att pengarna stannar i regionen, och går till verksamhet som har anknytning till biltrafiken.

Ahmadinejad om kvinnors situation i Väst

I samband med dagens frisläppande av de 15 brittiska fångarna som varit frihetsberövade i cirka två veckor passande Ahmadinejad på att kommentera situationen för kvinnor i Väst. Till pressen sade han om Faye Turney: "Ni vet att det finns en kvinna som är mor till ett barn bland de tillfångatagna. Varför ges den svåra uppgiften att patrullera havet till en kvinna? Varför finns ingen respekt för mödraskapet? Varför uppskattar inte Väst sina kvinnor?" Starka ord från en ledare av en islamisk republik. Ska vi titta lite närmare på situationen i Iran för kvinnor, efterom den iranska ledaren anser sig ha så pass torrt om fötterna att han kan kritisera Väst.

I Iran är kvinnor andra klassens medborgare, och en form av könsapartheid råder. Kvinnor är förbjudna från att delta i en mängd olika sociala, ekonomiska och politiska aktiviteter. Slöja är obligatorisk för alla kvinnor. Kvinnor separeras från män på bussar, universitet och många allmänna platser. Kvinnor kan inte resa, inte ens inom landet, utan tillstånd från deras manliga förmyndare. Kvinnor har inte heller någon rätt till skilsmässa eller vårdnad över sina barn.

Jag tycker att det är oerhört osmakligt att Ahmadinejad talar om att Väst inte uppskattar sina kvinnor, när han själv leder en regim som systematiskt förtrycker kvinnor!

Greider om Rand. Wottrich om Greider.

Så har nu vänsterns favorit Göran Greider spytt ur sig en ny artikel. Som vanligt är den svavelosande, och i allt väsentligt helt felaktig. Greider skriver i dagens DN om Ayn Rand och Stureakademin.

Vad det gäller Stureakademin, så gör Greider processen kort med deltagarna. I sann socialistisk pajkastaranda kallar han deltagarna för "nördar". Way to go Goran, it's so nice to see that you're taking the high road! Han är väl förmodligen inspirerad av den stora ledaren, ordförande Persson, som nu under två veckors tid på bästa sändningstid har fått möjlighet att kasta nedvärderande personomdömen omkring sig!

Vad det gäller Ayn Rand gör Greider flera tappra försök att skriva ner denna lysande stjärna av hopp för alla oss som inte ännu fallit i Sveriges socialistiska systems köttkvarn och blivit malda till den passifierade köttfärs som alla socialdemokrater verkar drömma att det svenska folket ska bli. Greider skriver bland annat:

"För vad ska man tro om en författare som beskriver USA som statt i djupaste socialistiskt förfall? Det gör Rand. Den amerikanska välfärdsstaten kväver alla initiativ, facket styr företagen, kultureliten är en "plundrarskara" och i det "kriget" måste man välja sida."

Här måste man fråga sig om Greider överhuvudtaget läst ”Atlas Shrugged”, som han med sådan styrka i orden försöker att skriva ner?! Fast det spelar ju ingen roll, eftersom han inte är intresserad av att förmedla bokens budskap, utan att just skriva ned den! För oss som har läst boken framstår ovanstående kommentar som ytterst märklig, eftersom boken inte handlar om Rands samtida USA, utan ett framtida USA där socialismens fula ansikte visar sig överallt.

Greider irriterar sig också på bokens hjältars målmedvetenhet. En av hjältarna i boken, Hank Rearden, beskrivs i boken: "Han hade sitt mål klart för sig och han gick mot det lika rakt som en järnvägsskena." Det försöker Greider desperat vända till något negativt. Greider står inte ut med att Rands hjältar skapat något, byggt upp en affärsverksamhet från grunden, och att de är stolta över det. Det är en självklarhet för honom att försöka hindra människors ambition att uppnå något. Den individuella driftkraften är nämligen hans kollektiva socialisms största fiende. I Greiders utopi är det ingen som är stolt över sig själv, och ingen som är rakryggad, istället har alla blivit en grå massa, utan egna tankar och egna ambitioner. I Greiders utopi utstrålar alla människor allmän hjälplöshet. Det är precis sådana människor som behövs för att upprätthålla den kollektivistiska diktatur som socialisterna förespråkar.

Ayn Rand är en av 1900-talets största litterära gestalter, och en förkämpe för frihet. Hon har genom sina mästerverk tydligt visat hur avskyvärd Greiders och socialisternas utopi ser ut. Ayn Rand är en sann hjältinna, och hon förtjänar allas vår uppskattning!

Äntligen uppgörelse om avskaffande av fastighetsskatten

Regeringen presenterade idag hur fastighetsskatten ska avskaffas! I och med detta, och dessutom sossarnas avskaffande av arvsskatten och regeringens tidigare reform genom avskaffandet av förmögenhetskatten, har Sverige nu tagit ett stort steg bort från den skadliga dubbel-, trippel- och kvadruppelbeskattning som tidigare var norm.

Fortsätter reformarbetet i denna takt kommer genomsnittssvensken snart slippa betala över 60% i skatt varje månad! En hel del skattereformer finns dock kvar, och då framförallt att löntagare själva ska få ta ansvar för sin skatteinbetalning. Det är hög tid att bryta den oheliga alliansen mellan sossar och arbetsgivare som lett fram till dagens situation där vanliga människor inte har någon kontroll över en stor del av sin egen lön!

Så har nu Wu Ping tvingats från sitt hem i Chongqing i södra Kina. Wu Ping hade kämpat i 3 år för att hon och hennes man skulle få behålla sitt hus, men nu har huset alltså rivits. Miljontals människor i Kina har fått lämna sina hus när myndigheterna säljer marken. Oftast får de inte alls någon marknadsmässig kompensation. Att systemet systematiskt kör över den enskilda människan är förkastligt. För en god och rättvis ekonomisk tillväxt krävs en stark privat äganderätt.

Varje regeringen ska frukta sitt folk, och inget folk ska frukta sin regering. Den devisen stämmer tyvärr inte i dagens kommuniststyrda Kina.

Facket förlorar slaget om folket

En majoritet av de 1000 personer som tillfrågats av TEMO, anser att facket gjort fel i sin våldsamma kamp mot entreprenören Sofia Appelgren, som drev salladsbaren Wild'n Fresh i Göteborg. Jag kan inte annat än att hålla med. Efter Vaxholmskatastrofen har facket återigen visat sig vara reaktionära och oflexibela. Vi kan bara hoppas på ett slut på maffia-metoderna!

FN har blivit kapat av diktaturer och skurkstater! Under de nio månader som rådet har funnits har de endast fördömt ett land för övergrepp mot mänskliga rättigheter, och det landet har de fördömt, inte bara en gång, utan NIO gånger! Vilket är det? Med medlemmar i rådet som Syrien och Iran är det föga förvånande att det landet är Israel, Mellanösterns enda demokrati. Sorgligt och patetiskt.

Zontaxa i Stockholms lokaltrafik

Äntligen återinfördes zontaxan i Stockholms lokaltrafik! Under en längre tid har stockholmarna befunnit sig i en helt bisarr situation, där det kostar lika mycket att åka från Södertälje till Märsta, som från Odenplan till S:t Eriksplan! Nej, det är tur att SL-styrelse tagit sitt förnuft till fånga, och återinför ett zon-system. Detta eftersom det är högst rimligt att man som resenär betalar för den tjänst man får av SL, alltså att en längre resa kostar mer än en kortare resa! En borgerligt ledd SL-styrelse har tagit ett sant liberalt beslut! Tack för det! Vi behöver fler sådana!

Distriktsstämma

Igår gick distriktsstämman för Stockholms CUF av stapeln! Vi hade flera timmar av bra debatter, och trevligt besök i form av förbundsordförandekandidaterna Marie Wickberg, Magnus Andersson och Johan Pettersson! Dessutom gästades vi av Annie Johansson, 1:e vice ordförande för CUF och riksdagsledamot, samt Jonas Naddebo, förbundssekreterare för CUF!

Alla beslut gick dock inte i den liberala anda som jag skulle ha önskat. En motion om avskaffande för det statliga stödet för föreningen Rättvisemärkt avslogs, trots att ett sådant statligt stöd omöjligt kan vara förenligt med en tro på marknaden. Dessutom bör ju hela Fair trade läggas ner, eftersom den enda riktiga Fair trad är Free trade!

Vidare en motion om slopande av bistånd blev även den avslagen, trots att forskningen visar att bistånd inte är rätt väg att gå för att förbättra situationen i u-länderna! Istället är det frihandel som är det mest effektiva sättet att lyfta människor ur fattigdom. Vidare är tanken att staten ska fördela eventuellt bistånd en klart oliberal idé, det är ett beslut som var och en bör få fatta, och själv välja till vilket biståndsprojekt man vill att sina pengar ska gå, om man nu tror att bistånd är en bra idé.

CUF-stämman i Kalmar närmar sig med stormsteg, och det ska bli oerhört spännande att få delta! Distriktsstämman gav helt klart mersmak! Ett Stort tack till DO Annika Ivarsson, DS och ombudsman Ingrid Lundqvist för deras fina arrangemang!
